Tina Turner started out her musical career in St. Louis, Missouri with her husband Ike Turner as a member of the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. The group had a string of hits including "Proud Mary" and "Come Together". In 1977, Tina left Ike to pursue a solo career. Tina Turner went on to build a successful solo career, starting in 1983 with "Let's Stay Together", and in 1984 with the release of her Grammy award winning album "Private Dancer". Tina Turner has starred in movies, received 9 Grammy awards, and been inducted into both the RocknRoll Hall of Fame and the Grammy Hall of Fame.
